Hey everyone - we just posted the full retrospective for the Naughty or Nice trading competition on the Governance Forum as an addendum.
Please make sure to give it a read as it breaks down how the December contest performed vs. Trick or Trade (Oct/Nov), what worked, what didn’t, and what was learned going into 2026.
Some TL;DR highlights:
- Avg daily volume up ~1.5× vs. Trick or Trade, despite a weaker year-end market
- Avg daily fees ~flat, while peer venues (e.g. GMX) saw ~30%+ declines
- Core pair volume & fees declined, highlighting limits of time-weighted incentives alone
- RWAs (XAG, XAU) stood out. Strong demand with contained vault exposure under v10
- OI health / churn improved (no forced close-outs, smoother contest end)
- 251k $GNS burned, much lower than ToT, but with OC buffers partially rebuilt via core market PnL and temporary reduction of PnL burn
- Retention from ToT was strong:
- ~50% of addresses returned
- ~60% of volume retained
- ~73% of top traders from ToT traded again
- Much lower inorganic activity, improving integrity and UX
